Snow clearing - how it works

Living in a rental apartment has many advantages, including not having to shovel snow. We always start clearing snow and sanding as early as we can to make things easier for you as a tenant. How quickly we can get it done depends on the weather and how much snow has fallen. Our ambition is to give our tenants the best possible service.

When do we clear snow? In general, we go out when there is 5 cm of wet snow or 10 cm of dry snow. Our contractors have many areas to clear, but our goal is to have it done within 6 hours.

Where do we clear snow? We always clear snow at entrances and outside staircases so that you can easily get in and out. We also clear our pathways, entrances to car parks, visitor parking lots, and basement stairs that are used. Adjacent areas such as bicycle paths and roads, as well as some pathways, are cleared by the municipality.

In what order do we clear snow? Our order of priorities is determined by where the needs are greatest. First, we clear and sand at nursing homes, preschools, etc. Next, we clear pathways and then parking lots and around bicycle racks.

What about sanding? When we plough and clear snow, we also make sure to sand where needed – especially at nursing homes, on pathways and the roads to our area parking lots, as well as at building entrances.

What do you need to do as a tenant? You are responsible for clearing snow from some surfaces. For example, private entrances to terraced houses, patios/balconies, parking spaces, and 50 cm in front of garages and carports. If you rent an open parking space, you are responsible for clearing snow there – we will only help if time permits.
To clear the snow more easily, we have placed snow shovels in most areas.

How to improve snow clearing: There are a few things you can help us with to make snow clearing in your yard work as well as possible.

  • Place bicycles you are not using in the basement or in bicycle storage in the area.
  • If you use your bike all year round, store it in the designated place and not right in front of the entrance.
  • Do not park your car inside the area.
  • In some areas there are boxes of gravel, we encourage to take the gravel and sprinkle it on patches of ice.
